And before you ask, yes, it is real.

If you’re wondering about the “real ninja outfit”, the grey one that makes you invisible, I’ll tell you straight out that this outfit that I am wearing is the only available ninja outfit for non-members. Sorry, it’s all you get. I was quite disappointed myself, too, but I’m afraid that’s what’s happened. Members, you don’t have to worry, you can buy anything in the Martial Artworks Catalogue.

So now you wanna be a ninja, right?! Here’s how:

Firstly, you have to play in Competition Mode (chat to the Sensei) and keep getting belts until you’re up to the black belt. Once you reach this, you can play the Sensei, and, if you win, you will receive the ninja mask and be able to go into the Ninja Hideout.

If you’re up to the black belt and are trying to beat the Sensei, but aren’t winning, read below!

When I got my black belt, I was very excited to play the Sensei and have a chance at winning. After all, before now, the Sensei had been able to “read my mind” every move I made. Now, I could actually play a decent game with him.

This is partly true. But, I’ll warn you, that, when you play the Sensei, he will beat you easily, like he has before, for the first few games. So don’t get confused (like I did!!) just keep playing him. The more you play him, the weaker he’ll get, until finally he actually makes a mistake!! :O! He will usually make his first bad move around the sixth or seventh game.

But it isn’t over just when he mucks up. You have to use your skill, wit and tricky moves to go on to win! Remember all of your strategies and use it on the Sensei. You may have to play a few games before you can finally beat him.

It really isn’t as hard as it sounds. It only took me seven quick games before I’d beaten him. Only 1 or 2 after he had made his bad move. Just wait for the mistake, and then it should be pretty easy from there. The Sensei isn’t really as good as he looks – I beat him easily!!

So keep on going – and watch out for that ninja mask!

On to ninjahood!

• White Belt: Memorize each of the cards and what can defeat them. The quicker you remember this, the easier it will be to think quickly and outwit the oponent. Remember, water defeats fire, fire defeats ice, ice defeats water.
• Yellow Belt: Always watch your oponent. If you get too stuck on winning with your own cards, you won’t notice when your oponent is about to win! Watch their cards and always give them the hardest chance to win.
• Orange Belt: Know what’s happening next. This is one of the most important tips that I can give you, and is a tip that you can keep thinking about from white belt – black belt. Think hard about what your oponent will do next and plan it well.
• Green Belt: Set up the next move. When you get to this level, things start to get harder, and your oponents start to get sneakier. So, you have to too! Force your player to put down a card that you can defeat and win!
• Blue Belt: Try to not use the same colour twice unless you have to. E.g. if you use two yellow fires, it will just take you another two turns to finish off the collection. Even if the highest scoring card is the same colour, if possible, choose different colours. Also, use higher scoring cards as much as possible so that if the oponent uses the same card type, you can beat them with the higher number.
• Red Belt: Don’t be fooled. If your oponent is trying to trick you into putting down a card, don’t put it down! Don’t let the oponent trick you!
• Purple Belt: Be open to change of plans. If your oponent has figured out your tricks, change your plans and do something else! You can’t win with the same old thing every time!
• Brown Belt: Know your oponent. If you’re at the brown belt, chances are, you’re pretty good, and you already know this, but, here’s a reminder: figure out what your oponents doing and stop it! If your oponent is trying to trick you into putting down a card, force them to go somewhere else. Also, if you play against the same player twice, use the knowledge from the last game to stop them from winning again.
• Black Belt: Use every trick you can find – the Sensei’s good, so you can’t just do the “usual stuff”. Keep pulling out those tricks!

• The Chat Page! What’s a club without chatting with our members? We’ve got a chat page, and the only chat page on our site, so that you can comment to other penguins (CWOC members, of course!!) and get to know them/talk to them. You can also advertise your site and special events on it, and announce important things!
• The Fun Stuff! Fun, fun, fun – that’s what being a CWOC member is all about! We have colouring pages, exclusive polls, chatting, secrets, etc! Our Fun Stuff page is our latest addition to the CWOC, so we’re still fixing it up a bit, but it’ll be something to look forward to in the near future! Hopefully by the time you get the password, the Fun Stuff will be all down-pat and it’ll be super cool!
• The Shop! Here is a page with tonnes of things you can buy – FOR FREE! No money, points, anything - just a copy and paste of a html code, and you’ll have it right there on your computer! You can buy official site merchandise, fun CWOC membership merchandise (so you can tell everyone you’re a CWOC member!!!) and some extra bits ‘n’ bobs. There’s headers, widgets, wallpaper, print-out activities and loads more!!
• The Improvement Project! Before you skip this “boring” part of the CWOC, I’d better tell you that, on this page, and as a CWOC member, you will be part of the ZEB AND WIGZ’S SITE COUNCIL. In other words, you will help us make all of the important decisions about our site (and a few other things… we have lots of problems!! :S) as well as being the first people who will know about new additions to our site! You can give advice and feedback and be a real help!
• The Lucky Dip! Can you believe it – you win a competition, get a password to our CWOC and then you can be in the draw to win heaps or MORE prizes!    My tip to get the CWOC password is to enter as many competitions and visit the site often; (being loyal). Make sure you don’t get yourself banned from the website while you have entered a competition. REMEMBER: It is a competition and i’ll be in it!!

Ok, I feel like doing it in FAQ style, so here it comes:

How do you become a ninja?

To become a ninja you have to pass the special ninja training. Go to the Dojo (not the Dojo courtyard, but the actual Dojo…) and speak to the Sensei – the funny grey guy at the right of the Dojo on his little chair thingo. Click on him to walk over there and he’ll explain to you all about the ninja training. Then play against other penguins of similar level in Competition Mode and the more you win, the more belts you’ll get. Once you’re on the black belt (the highest one) play against the Sensei (he’s VERY hard!!) and if you win, you will be granted the position of a ninja. It isn’t an easy process, that’s for sure – it may take you quite a while before you’re up there in the ninja squad!

How do you play the game?

It’s quite tricky to get used to at first, but once you get the hang of it, the game is actually quite easy, but also challenging at the same time as you play against other penguins. The aim is to win three cards, either:

• Three of the same type (e.g. three ice, three fire or three water) They all must be different colours
• Three of different types (e.g. one fire, one ice and one water). They all must be different colours.

To do this, you have to put up cards and try and beat the other person’s. Here are the combinations:

• Fire defeats ice
• Water defeats fire
•  Ice defeats

For example, if you put up fire, and the other person puts up ice, you will win. But if they put up water, you lose. The winner gets to keep their card.

If both people put up the same card type, the one with the highest number wins.

What are the cards with the funny border?

You mean the special ones that have wobbly borders? Often they have a number 10 on them? Oh I forgot about them. If you play one of those cards, because it is a high number, the next round will be low numbers winning. E.g. if you put up the special card and then the next round, put up a six ice, and the other person puts up a three ice, they will win, because for one round, the winner will have the lowest card. This only happens if the same card type is put up by both players.

Can I still play if I haven’t bought those trading cards?

Of course you can play – I don’t have the trading cards either, only virtual ones. The sensei gives you a starters pack even if you don’t have the trading cards, so you can play no matter what. The trading cards can just help you to get to ninjahood quicker!

What are the order of the belts?

If you ever forget the order of the belts, you will see a sign up in the Dojo. Otherwise, here it is, from lowest to highest:

• White
• Yellow
• Orange
• Green
• Blue
• Red
• Purple
• Brown
• Black
• Ninja

Please correct me if I got any of those wrong…

What do all of those modes mean?

There are three modes that you can play on. Here they are:

• Friendly mode: Walk over to one of those blue mats sitting around the Dojo and play against a friend. You can’t win belts by this, I don’t think, but it’s just there if you want to play against a friend or show off your fabulous skills!
• Competition mode: This is the mode where you get your belts! The sensei will match you up with a current player of similar belt level, and you will play against each other. You’ll have to win five times before you will be awarded the belt.
• Sensei mode: Play against the pro! It’s VERY hard! If you ask me, it’s almost impossible to win, unless you’re on the black belt. Only when you do have the black belt will the win against the Sensei win or will you be able to become a ninja.

Hint about beating the Sensei: Keep playing him throughout your training, even if you don’t win – the more you play him, the weaker he gets. You can only beat him if you have the black belt.

What’s so good about being a ninja?

When you become a ninja, well, it’s quite a privelege. You’ll be able to turn invisable, have access to exclusive ninjas only things and have an awesome outfit. But that’s only a few of the great things you’ll be able to do once you become a ninja – I don’t want to ruin the surprise for you! All I can say is that, all the hard work is worth it!

The Coins for Change was a campaign that happened around Christmas time last year (2007). And guess what?! It’s back! On December the 12th! You will NOT want to miss it.

The Coins for Change Campaign helped raise money for three different organisations: Helping Sick Kids, Kids in Poverty, and Helping the Environment. Penguins would choose one (or all!!) of the three things to donate too.

But, Club Penguin has made it so that you don’t donate real money – you donate Club Penguin virtual coins! By heading over to the donation boxes, you could select how many coins you wanted to donate (see above for a picture of that!) and get a free item – a Christmas bell!

How does this work? After all, virtual coins aren’t real – they couldn’t do much. But what happens is Club Penguin will match the money up with the coins donated.

CP had promised to donate 1 million dollars, and this is divided up between the three organisations. It’s up to you (the donating penguins) to choose how much goes to what organisation. The one with the most donated coins will get the most money. The more you donate, the more your choice will get!

So start saving up your coins, because the Coins for Change will be here on the 12th of December. You can change the world, and make a difference by just playing a few games and earning virtual coins! How cool?!

So go for it!!

1. For the first little while on your site, your number of hits will probably be quite low and not many people will visit it. But instead of giving up or just waiting, why don’t you use the time to make your site better? Create your pages and start using more and more posts, so by the time that your site is up there with Mohd’s, it’s amazing! I suggest putting up a Blog Stats widget on your sidebar and you can sit and watch your site grow!
   
2. Ok, well for a start, you have to make it look good! Spend some time jazzing up your header, figure out your colour scheme and make it look impressive and “professional”. People like colourful and interesting sites!
   
3. Make sure you keep your regular visitors updated with posts on all the new stuff. Also, people like cheats and secrets, so it’d be a good idea to write up posts or a page is great too with all your cheats and secrets. And if a new mission comes out, walkthroughs get lots of people looking at your site too!
   
4. Pictures say 1000 words. Instead of writing up a page that just blabs on and on in a million words about how to do the mission walkthrough, put in a picture! Seriously, not only is it alot easier to do and read, but it looks more colourful and interesting too!
   
5. Never, ever, ever copy people. There is absolutely no point in copying and pasting pictures or posts from another site straight onto yours. If people wanted that information, they’d go to the site you got it from, not yours! And the most boring thing in the world is when people copy of the Official Cp Blog – everyone looks at that. Either put it in your own words or forget it!
   
6. Make sure you  have things on your site that people can do! Put in polls, competitions, places to comment or ask questions and other things that allow visitors to get involved. Maybe you could have a Penguin of the Week or interview people – people like it when they feel “famous” and are mentioned on your site! Make sure that you add people with CP sites to your blogroll too!
   
7. Be original! For goodness sake, tons of sites have the catalogue on them and write about the Latest Newspaper. You don’t NEED that stuff if other people have it! Look outside the box – find things from behind the scenes of Club Penguin – maybe the CPIP updates or the latest message on the Agent HQ board. No one wants to find the exact same information on every Club Penguin site that they look at!
   
8. The most annoying thing is when people use bad language or paste inappropriate pictures on their site. Don’t you realize that Club Penguin users are kids from only 7 years old?! It puts people off when they look at a site that is offensive.

9. Don’t get mixed up between Club Penguin and the real world. It’s annoying when people search your site for updates on rockhopper or the latest catalogue and they find photos of your favourite band or pictures of you! Make sure that if you have a Club Penguin site, it’s all about Club Penguin.
   
10. Everyone loves a Club Penguin Pics page. Seriously, if you want to entertain people, make up some funny pictures or capture a funny moment on CP!
    

So I hope that gave you a few ideas to fix up your site, or maybe even encouraged you to start your own! If you follow these tips, you might just find yourself with a few more hits!

I’ll give you the whole story on the Dojo – Behind the Scenes!

Well let’s start off with what’s going on now.

When you click the Dojo (you’ll have to use the map – it’s in the mountains!!) you’ll see that things are very different! There’s signs and construction workers everywhere, and there’s a box of orange hard hats!

Hmf. That’s the THIRD time those orange hard hats have been brought back. Eek.

Anyway, back to work. If you climb up the ladder, you’ll see a sign that says, “To Outside”. If you didn’t see it, you are seriously suffering visual problems. CP didn’t want you to miss it!!

Here’s what “The Outside” looks like:

And literally EVERYONE is drilling with their hard hats or shovelling with their shovels. Fun fun fun…

But one of the coolest things is…

A weird penguin digging out below the sign. When you click on him…

You see that his name is “??????”. Wouldn’t ya love a name like that?! Eek.

Oh, and here is a cool thing in the newspaper:

What does this mean?

If you ask me, the time has come. For ninjas.

If you’re going, “what on earth?!” then I suggest you read on.

You see, ever since Penguin Chat 3 turned into Club Penguin, there have been rumours. (You can check out our post on CP History if you want to know more about Penguin Chat 3 and early Club Penguin). And these rumours are about ninjas. You see, the first Club Penguin (Penguin Chat 3) had ninjas, so that’s where the rumours began.

The Dojo has been the so called “Ninja Base”. Penguins would show off tricks there and fake being ninjas. They would say, “NINJA AT THE DOJO!!” and everyone would believe them because well, if you were going to see a ninja, it would be at the Dojo. And the biggest rumours of all was the How to be a Ninja trick – if you stayed at the Dojo, un-moving, for half an hour, three penguins in black would offer you ninja goggles. This doesn’t work, by the way, but people for some reason, always think it’s all true.

So, if it isn’t here, why are people so crazy about ninjas?! Because, it’s not here… YET. There are clues pointing to ninjas coming, soon – the shadows, the ninja item in the CP base, the ninja clothes on the old Club Penguin homepage:

There are clues – and now, the Dojo, home of the ninjas, is being constructed. I think it’s time – time for the ninjas to make an appearance. What do you think??

I wouldn’t normally write a post on something like plush toys, but everyone else has so oh well.

Anyway, when you buy a CP plush item or a CP book (from Toys R Us stores), you can unlock items online.

To do this you will have to buy the items (duuuh!) and find the code for your item, or, if you have the book, find a specific word.

Follow these instructions:

1. Go to the log in screen and click the “Unlock Items Online” button where the old parent’s button was.
   
2. Select the player who you would like to get the items on…
3. And then choose one of the following options. Do you have a book or a code (which is on the toys and other merchandise)?
   
4. If you choose book, you will have to type in the word which follows all of the specifications in the book. For example, if it says “Page 6, 3rd word from the left on line 13″ you have to find that word on that page, that line and third from the left.
5. If you choose the other option, you have to find the code on your toy or whatever you have and type it in. Make sure you get the code right, otherwise it won’t work!! Oh, and also, you can only use this code once, so you can’t do it on two penguins, give the code to your friends, or anything like that.
6. Then… dun dun DUUN! You can get the Treasure book. I think… ?

Hope that works – I don’t have an CP merchandise, so I can’t help you much more than this. Also, I can’t give you any codes or words because…
a. I didn’t buy any
b. Even if I did, they can only work once anyway, so I wouldn’t be able to give it to you…
