Yes, Club Penguin IS going too far when it comes to repeating old and rare items. That’s why we’re doing a page where we are trying to get 100 names of penguins so that we can complain to Club Penguin about it.(You can help us out too, just click here!)

But why exactly are we trying to get that 100 names? Why are we complaining about it? Well, that’s why I’ve written it all down. Right here:

Items

This is the obvious one. When Club Penguin does a party, it usually happens once a year. And every time, out come the same old items as last year. But what’s the point of this? What about all of the penguins who were there last year? Well, this is why we’re complaining. Because we’re sick of seeing this sign pop up on our screen:

Like for instance, the recent Fall Fair 08 party. Here’s a comparison of the prize booths from last year and this year:

See what I mean? The lollipop, paddle-thingy and fluffy tiara were repeated. The only new clothing items were the new coloured fairy floss and the green giant glasses. I think it would be fair to say, we were ripped off.

That’s not all. No way.

Below, you’ll see just one item that has been repeated in the Clothing Catalogue.

And what about this (Rockhopper has gotta be famous for repeating his items:

Eeek, I’ve practically given up looking, the number of times Rockhopper has brought back items that I already have.

And on the subject of Rockhopper…

When you meet him, you think, great, now I can get a free item!

So you click on the “add buddy” button, and this pops up:

So, of course, you click Yes, thinking, fantastic! A new Rockhopper background!

Club Penguin is really going way overboard. 5 copies of the same thing? I think it’s time for a change! Here’s the 5 hoodies – purple, pink, black, blue and green. It probably won’t be long before they introduce a yellow, red or orange one! I wonder if CP dislike those colours. Nothing much seems to come out in those colours!

Again, the furniture items are repeated. Last year’s ones are brought back. Rare items are… repeated.

But there’s more.

Whoever is in the Furniture Design department of Club Penguin must seriously be lacking creativity.

If you ask me, backgrounds are the things that are repeated the most. Lucky they’re just a playercard item. :S

Pins

These things, pins, Club Penguin promised, would never be repeated. Ever. So they’ve done their best to get closest to repeating, without “officially” doing it. Like for example:

Um, excuse me? Is there supposed to be a difference with those two jewels? Same colour… same effects… Oh, I see. The shape. Slightly. riiiight.

• If these two were in black and white, the only thing that would of changed is the string!
  

Eek, Club Penguin uses colour alot as an excuse. Oh no, these aren’t repeated items. They are different colours. Blah. I guess it’s better than full on copying.

Take a look at the Lollypop pin AND the lollypop item, couldnt they think of something more creative rather than having a pin the same as an item? Seriously? -

Eek, Club Penguin hasn’t been “bringing back the old pins” – they’ve just been copying them! On my opinion, this is just as bad, don’t you think?

Are Members being ripped off?

You members will want to listen up to this bit. Whether you’re paying for monthly, half yearly or yearly membership, you’re paying. Paying for membership, and then paying for items. And what are you getting for it? Here are some items that were both member and non members have. A slight difference means that members have to pay, and non-members get something not far off, for free! I think I’d call that being ripped off. Especially when you pay for membership, as well as the items that they’re getting.

What’s the difference? Just the colour of the whistle. Red or Silver/Green? Those members had to pay for that. And everyone else got the other one for free. Member rip off? Definitely.

I know they’re a little different, but I’m sure you can see where I’m coming from. They’re very similar in looks, but behind the scenes, one you have to buy, the other, you just have to click on. And ta daa!

Ok, so… what’s the difference? Oh right, one’s yellow, and the other’s green. One’s worth a paid membership, and the other’s free.

I’m not fussed about this whole members getting ripped off thing. I’m a non member – the more non members get, the better. But I put it in because I wanna show you that Club Penguin’s getting lazy.

Don’t protest against non members getting lots of items, and don’t complain about members not getting enough. It’s just how Club Penguin might not be repeating, they could be copying.

Or just being lazy. Creativity is a rare gift apparently.

So, is Club Penguin going too far? Definitely yes.
